Headless Mannequin Appreciation / Top 10 Favorites
Since I was very young, I have been fascinated with headless mannequins after first having seen them at a mall relatively early on my trip down the NBM/MBM rabbit hole. To this day, I like to imagine the idea of a headless female mannequin coming to life or having always been alive, having fully flexible joints that let them move about like nobody's business yet still maintaining their neck stumps and having the skin maintain the feel of hard plastic. In those fantasies, some of which I have made into stories, my headless angels are always mute. As much as I like flesh-and-blood headless women, I prefer living mannequins because of their more magical nature. Having them mute makes them still somewhat grounded and less unsettling. Despite not having heads, I still want them to see and hear in ways beyond our comprehension so they could interact with humans more easily and have some personality of their own. Alternate version, I discovered yesterday, of a commercial that inspired one of my stories. It's faster and somehow manages to be clearer at times than the older known version despite having a lot of static getting in the way.
